10月27日，十五运会男子水球决赛在广东省奥体中心游泳跳水馆上演，东道主广东队以16:9击败上海队，成功卫冕。
此前进行的小组赛，广东队三战全胜，昂首晋级决赛。
在十四运会男子水球决赛中，广东队就曾与上海队相遇。当时广东队以12:8击败对手，历史上第三次夺得全运会金牌。
