国际船舶管理公司ZodiacMaritime6月24日发布声明称，旗下的“晨曦迈达斯”号滚装汽车运输船因火灾导致船体进水，最终于6月23日在阿拉斯加阿留申群岛附近的国际水域沉没。
该船只于5月26日离开烟台港，原计划6月15日抵达墨西哥拉萨罗卡德纳斯港，但是6月3日，该船只起火。
该船载有约3000辆汽车，其中约有70辆为纯电动汽车，约680辆为混合动力汽车，载有包括奇瑞、长城等多家中国制造商的汽车，上汽通用客服称有该公司燃油车在船上。
