邵慎亭交友广泛，新中国开国副总理黄炎培1951年曾亲自来大连找这位1927年在大连结交的好朋友。他却不知道，邵竟然和他同居北京城，而且在1950年病逝了。
邵慎亭与张大千也有很深的交情，这幅画就是邵慎亭从大连带到北京的张大千的一幅鲜为人知的作品，不见于张大千作品集。
