北京时间5月7日，快船队运营总裁劳伦斯-弗兰克在接受ESPN采访时明确表示，他希望哈登在今年夏天执行自己的球员选项。
弗兰克表示：“我们非常感激哈登本赛季为球队所做的一切。我现在的想法是，即使他不执行球员选项，我们也有信心能达成一份既符合哈登利益、又对快船有利的新协议。”
詹姆斯-哈登本赛季出场79次，场均得到22.8分、8.7次助攻和5.8个篮板。
