在16日召开的非洲应对埃博拉疫情特别视频峰会上，非洲疾控中心主任卡塞亚在会上警告称，如果刚果（金）埃博拉疫情得不到迅速遏制，将成为近年来最严重的埃博拉疫情。非盟主席优素福呼吁非盟成员国和国际伙伴加强协作，共同遏制疫情进一步扩散。
刚果（金）卫生部16日发布的数据显示，该国累计确诊病例升至837例，其中196例死亡。
