Nathan found thepocket watchat a flea market.
It was old, silver, and slightly tarnished, its surfaceengraved with delicate patterns. The vendor, an old man withclouded eyes, smiled when Nathan picked it up.
“That one’s special,” the man said.“It only moves when it wants to.”
Nathan chuckled, assuming it was just a broken antique, but something about the watch intrigued him. On impulse, he bought it.
That night, he set it on his bedside table before falling asleep.
At3:14 AM, he woke up.
The room was silent. The only sound was the fainttickingof the watch.
But something waswrong.
The ticking wasbackward.
Nathan sat up, his pulse quickening. He grabbed the watch and squinted at its face. The hands weremoving in reverse, ticking back one second at a time.
Then, his bedroom doorcreaked open.
Nathanfroze.
“Hello?” he called, his voice hoarse.
No answer.
The hallway was dark, empty. Yet the airfelt heavy, like someone was standing just out of sight.
Then the watchstopped ticking.
Nathan held his breath. The silence wasthick, suffocating.
Then—
A whisper.
Right next to his ear.
“Give it back.”
Nathanflinched, spinning around—but there was no one there.
His heart pounded as he grabbed the watch andshoved it into his desk drawer, slamming it shut. He told himself it was just his imagination.
But at3:14 AMthe next night, he woke up again.
The drawer wasopen.
The watch wasgone.
And from the hallway, he heard the ticking.
Growing louder.
Coming closer.

然后——
卧室的门吱呀一声打开了。
内森僵住。
“……有人吗？”他干涩地问道。
没有回答。
走廊漆黑一片，空无一人。但空气却沉重得像被什么东西填满，仿佛有人站在黑暗中，正默默地注视着他。
怀表的滴答声戛然而止。
内森屏住呼吸。寂静变得厚重，令人窒息。
然后——
一个低语声，在他耳边响起。
“还回来。”
内森猛地一缩，猛然转头——但身后什么都没有。
心脏狂跳，他一把抓起怀表，将它塞进书桌的抽屉里，用力关上。他告诉自己，这只是错觉。
但到了凌晨3:14，他又一次惊醒。
抽屉开了。
怀表不见了。
而在黑暗的走廊尽头，滴答声响起。
越来越响。
越来越近。
