詹姆斯进入NBA之后，除了新秀赛季未能参加全明星正赛，已经连续20年参加该项赛事。
上一次詹姆斯未出战全明星正赛时，姚明还是西部的全明星首发。当时的全明星首发球员还有：艾弗森、麦迪、卡特、奥尼尔、华莱士、弗朗西斯、加内特、邓肯、科比。
