据贵州日报：经国务院批准，民政部批复贵州省人民政府，同意撤销兴仁县，设立县级兴仁市，以原兴仁县的行政区域为兴仁市的行政区域，兴仁市人民政府驻城北街道民主路20号。兴仁市由黔西南布依族苗族自治州管辖。
