美国总统特朗普5月8日在社交媒体平台Truth Social发文称，美英贸易协议将把市场准入提高50亿美元，增加60亿美元关税收入，降低英国关税至1.8%，并提高美国关税至10%。
当日早些时候，英国和美国已经就关税贸易协议条款达成一致。英国政府同意进口美国食品和农业产品方面作出让步，以换取美方降低对英国汽车出口的关税。
