北京时间4月29日，河南俱乐部官方宣布，正式解除南基一的主教练职务。至此中超仅剩崔康熙和徐正源两位韩国籍主教练。
自2024年1月7日出任球队主帅以来，南基一与其教练团队带领河南队取得13胜10平18负的战绩，并在2024赛季率队夺得联赛第八名的成绩。
本赛季南基一带队8场仅取得7分，目前排名联赛第13名，距离降级区仅2分。
