“I was very much flattered by his asking me to dance a second time. I did not expect such a compliment.”
1. flattered
“They call my song ‘Divine Comedy’, and they call me the ‘Godmother’. I’m flattered ,” Gong told Nanfang Daily.
Lu was flattered to learn about her illustration's quasi-icon status, she says, but of course a stock image's popularity does not translate directly into revenue.
The more popular the site becomes, the more likely it will be used to spread malware, so perhaps SlideShare should be somewhat flattered that they've reached this level of notoriety.
2. compliment
And he pointed out that UC Web was investing in startups to compliment its core product.
It is, all snarkiness aside, a terrific compliment to be recognized in this way.
Many progressives in California take that as a compliment since Greeks are ostensibly happier.
The greatest compliment you can pay your host is to be attentive, relaxed, and appreciative.
This is not going to sound like the greatest compliment ever: It's certainly better than nothing.
1. “I was very much flattered by his asking me to dance a second time.”
asking me to dance a second time:再次邀请我跳舞。
2. “I did not expect such a compliment.”
did not expect:没想到。
