钟荣军，湖南零陵县人，1982年入伍。任52团指挥连有线排一班战士，1983年调到三营七连指挥排有线班，1984年11月退伍。1985年元月分配在湖南省国防科工办南岭化工厂员工，2014年3月，永州市纪委，市公安局借调至打黑除恶专案组陪护队长，至2022年5月撤回公司，2023年10月退休。
