新西兰的养老金修正案已在国会通过三读。
对于2042年7月1日或之后满65岁的新西兰居民，需在新西兰住满20年，才有资格领取养老金。
工党、国家党和行动党对此均表示支持。
此前，领取养老金资格的居住年限只有10年。
据报导，目前新西兰的养老金支付给了全国 15% 的人口，预计到 2040 年，领取养老金的人口比例将增至 20%，到 2060 年增至 25%。
