trust 和 trust in 的意思有交集，但是还是有不同的地方

跟 believe 和 believe in 的区别有点类似，trust 与其对应的短语动词 trust in 的意思有交集，而且用法看起来基本一样，它们都可以意为“相信，信任，信赖”，但是还是有不同的地方。

一、trust 作动词时，是一个及物动词

1. trust sb，意为“信任，信赖，相信（某人的善良、真诚等）”，表示对某人有信心或相信某人是好的、真诚的或诚实的，后面可以接带 to 不定式，例如：

After she did me, I'll trust her again.

在她对我所做的一切之后，我再也不会信任她了。

My sister warned me not to trust him.

我姐姐警告我不要相信他。

trust sb to do sth:

I trust him to make the right decision.

我相信他会做出正确的决定。

You can trust me not to anyone.

你可以相信我不会跟任何人讲。

2. trust sth，意为“相信，认为可靠”，表示相信某事物是真实的、正确的或值得信赖的，例如：

I don't trust travel - it's unnatural.

我认为乘飞机旅行不可靠，感觉不自然。

He trusted her judgement.

他相信她的判断力。

Don't trust what the newspapers !

别相信报纸上的话！

3. trust + that 引导的宾语从句，意为“想，希望，期望”，表示希望或期望某事是真的，例如：

I trust (that) you have objections to our proposals?

我想你不反对我们的建议吧？

I trust that you will not blame me.

谅你也不至于见怪。

二、trust in sb/sth

Trust in sb/sth 是对应于 trust 的短语动词，表面意思跟 trust 一模一样，意为”信任，信赖，相信“，例如：

It's hard to trust in you after everything that has happened.

在经历了这一切之后，很难相信你。

We all trust in your decision, whatever it may be.

我们都相信你的决定，不管是什么。

you simply trust in the goodness of human nature.

有时你不得不寄希望于人性的善良。

三、两者的区别

1. trust sth 和 trust in sth

当表示相信某事是真实的或正确的且可以依靠（rely on）时，trust 和 trust in 的意思是一样的，经常可以通用，但 trust in 是正式用语，例如：

我完全相信他的判断。

I trust his judgement completely. (正确)

I trust in his judgement completely. (正确)

跟 believe in 类似，trust in 也可以表示相信某物的存在，而 trust 没有这个用法，例如：

传教士告诉会众要相信上帝。

The preacher told the congregation to trust in God. (正确)

The preacher the congregation to trust God. (错误)

2. trust sb 和 trust in sb

跟 belive in 类似，trust in sb 指相信某人的品行和能力等，而表示 trust 表示相信某人是老实的、真诚的或不会做坏事，比如你通常会把秘密告诉你 trust 的人而不是 trust in 的人，例如：

Trust in me. I know what I am saying.

相信我。我知道我在说什么。

解析：要对方相信自己是有能力的。

I don’t trust him.

我只是不相信他。

解析：表示我觉得他不老实、不真诚或我再也不会把秘密告诉他了。
