7月7日，伦敦矿业股在前市走低。三菱日联(MUFG)的Soojin Kim写道，随着霍尔木兹海峡附近两艘商船遇袭推高油价并重新引发通胀担忧，金价连续第二天走低。较高的利率通常会打击白银和黄金等无收益资产。
在纽约市场，黄金期货下跌0.7%，至每盎司4,139.40美元；白银下跌1.7%，至每盎司61.26美元。贵金属矿商Hochschild Mining下跌3%，而同行Fresnillo和Endeavour Mining分别下跌2.2%和1.5%。多元化矿商英美资源集团下跌2.1%。
