7月6日晚，湖北东部多地遭遇强对流天气袭击。19时至23时，黄石、黄冈、鄂州、咸宁等地出现雷暴大风，53个乡镇风力达8至13级，其中2个乡镇达到13级，部分乡镇出现龙卷风。
截至6日23时许，此次强对流天气已造成8人死亡、1人失联。灾情正在进一步核实中。
