5月8日，三星电子最大的工会在其网站上发表声明称，将通过争议后调解程序与管理层恢复谈判。声明称，该决定是在周五工会领导人与劳动部及管理层会面后做出的，事后调解将于5月11日至12日举行。
该工会表示，若谈判结果无法令成员满意，将毫不犹豫地发起全面罢工。
