1月21日，湖南邵阳县周先生反映，他哥哥和嫂子2014年未婚生下侄子，两人在2016年先后失联，让11岁侄子成了“孤儿”。周先生称，他22岁未婚失业，平时还要照顾侄子的生活起居，且父母已年迈。当地村干部告诉记者，孩子父母确实多年未回村，是否失联警方正在调查。记者从岩口铺镇政府获悉，对周先生侄子的相关帮扶工作正在进行。
