记者从内蒙古自治区相关部门获悉，1月18日15时5分，包头市包钢一厂区发生爆炸事故。事故发生后，消防、公安、医疗等多部门调集多支救援队伍、专业救援装备及相关应急力量赶赴现场，全面开展抢险救援工作。
截至18日17时30分，事故造成2人死亡、5人失联，另有66人送医，其中3人重症。自治区和包头市相关救援力量已赶赴现场救援、处置。事故原因正在调查中。
