12月16日，合肥西站候车大厅装饰装修已经进入最后的冲刺阶段，即将正式投入使用。合肥西站作为国家“八纵八横”高速铁路网京港（台）通道的重要节点，投用后将高效衔接京港（台）高铁商合杭、合安、合福等多条铁路线路，成为代表合肥形象的新“城市客厅”，为城市发展和交通强国建设注入新动能。
