北京时间9月20日，德国杯乒乓球1/8决赛，萨尔布吕肯3-0战胜多特蒙德挺进八强，比赛中萨尔布吕肯球迷在场边高唱《樊振东之歌》。
比赛结束时，樊振东与球员、教练一起向现场球迷挥手致意，多特蒙德教练则主动找樊振东合影。
据北青体育报道，德国球迷自发创作“樊振东之歌”，将经典歌曲《We Will Rock You》，直接改为“We Will，We Will，樊振东”，为其加油助威。
