据《纽约时报》9月5日报道，除2019年未达预期的军事行动外，该报获得新证据显示，美国海军特种部队曾于2005年在朝鲜境内实施过一次绝密任务。
知情人士称，当时美军海豹突击队乘坐微型潜艇在朝鲜沿海登陆，执行一项特殊任务（具体内容迄今未公开），完成目标后秘密撤离。该行动由美国总统乔治·W·布什授权。
