The 15th China International Animation Copyright Fair (ACTIF) kicked off on August 8 and will be running until August 11, 2025, in Dongguan, Guangdong. Over 2,000 globally renowned anime IPs gather at this grand event. Featuring industry exchange, technological showcases, and the integration of culture and tourism, the fair offers a top anime feast.
During an interview at this year's ACTIF, when asked to choose one Chinese element for a new animation, Dalton Grant Jr., American animation director and story-writing artist, raved about Chinese culinary delights. "Chinese food is crazy good (for animation creation)," he enthused. He emphasized the unique power of Chinese cuisine to "bring the family together" while capturing distinctive regional flavors, which he believes should be showcased more in animation to "open people's minds up of what good food they can eat and what places they can go" in China.
