普朗蒂也是马刺系教练，他的教练生涯起步于马刺（1996年-2005年），之后又在独行侠、开拓者、骑士、雄鹿、太阳和老鹰做过助教，2023年老鹰解雇麦克米兰之后，他做过临时主帅；去年雄鹿解雇阿德里安-格里芬之后，他也做过临时主帅。
