齐鲁网·闪电新闻12月27日讯11月4日，国际永久编号为346721的小行星正式命名为“潘承洞星”。这是目前，山东大学威海天文台发现并已经命名的第7颗小行星，也是学校第1颗以人物命名的小行星。
此次获得命名的“潘承洞星”由山东大学威海天文台一米口径赤道式反射望远镜观测发现。2012年11月28日，获得永久编号346721和命名权，2024年11月4日获命名。
