据央视新闻，当地时间8月3日消息，据日本东京都监察医务院初步统计，7月东京都23区可能因中暑死亡的人数为123人，较去年同期增加28人。死者大多数为老年人。
另外，123名死者中，有121人死亡地点为室内。
日本气象厅8月1日表示，刚刚过去的7月，日本全国平均气温为1898年开始统计以来的同月最高值。
