In many different countries, most shops and products become the same. Some people think it's a positive development, while others think it's a negative development. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. (2023/07/29)

Introduction

The impact of globalization accelerated, making countries have more similarities in language and daily customs, with no exception in shops and products. While some people think the spread of the same products bringsa medley ofmerits, Istaunchlybelieve that such a development is ultimatelydetrimental.

Advocates of theproliferationof similar shops and products across various countries argue the essential role the development may play in enriching the life choices of national consumers. To illustrate, we are driving fancy cars manufactured by Germany, savoringpalatablesalmon imported in Japan, and enjoyingnail-bitingaction movies produced in Hollywood, without which our life standard would be remarkably weakened. Also, standardization facilitates consumers who travel frequently in multiple countries. Thesaturationof international products allows customers to make informed choices without any linguistic and cultural barriers, owing to their familiarity with the brand names, functions and after-sale services of products.By this token, global sameness of products not only promotes the accessibility of commodities in domestic market, but also ultimately bringstangible boonson a global scale.

However, retailhomogenization, from my own perspective,engenderscultural identity as a country’s language, history and culture areinextricablybound up in its local artefacts, be they clothes, footwear orutensils. As international brands penetrating intoevery nook and crannyof the society, the striking prevalence of goods from such brands will, in all likelihood,oustthe traditional objects of a nation, which would be a disappearance of richness and diversity of a country’s local culture. Furthermore,disillusionedwith finding the shops and goods being identical with those in places they once visited, tourists will find it to bea big letdownto travel abroad. In this case, easier access to the same products is more likely tohindertravelers from opening their wallets to buy specialties and souvenirs, thusimpedingtheblossomof tourist industry.

a) 国家失去文化多样性；商品必然带有一定的文化属性，当国外很多产品或者商店进入国内市场，国产的产品被取而代之，这也就意味着本国的文化也会随之消失；

b) 影响旅游业的发展；当人们出国旅游时发现所有的商品都可以在国内市场上见到，也就必然会越来越不愿意购买纪念品甚至不愿意再远距离出行；
