1894年11月24日，孙中山先生建立了第一个资产阶级革命团体“兴中会”，在由他亲自起草的《兴中会宣言》中，率先发出“振兴中华”的呐喊。
此后，孙中山不仅积极组织武装起义，还领导革命派与保皇派论战。到1905年，兴中会与华兴会、光复会等革命团体合组中国同盟会，孙中山被推举为总理，并系统提出三民主义思想体系，开启了中国革命的新进程。
