10月16日，竹山县环绕堵河的346、242国道，在车流灯光的映衬下，犹如五色彩带，给公路交通带来柔和又坚定的力量。10月15日，竹山通往西、南部13个乡镇的346、242国道部分路段升级改造竣工，达到一级路标准，对加强当地交通基础设施建设、推动旅游经济发展起到重要作用。
