英国政府依据4月与卢旺达政府达成的协议，准备把今年以来偷渡至英国的外国人分批遣送至卢旺达。6月14日晚，一架遣送移民的包机原计划从英国伦敦飞往卢旺达首都基加利，但在最后关头被欧洲人权法院紧急叫停。15日，英国内政大臣帕特尔表示，对欧洲人权法院的裁决感到失望，英国将继续执行这项“偷渡者遣送卢旺达”政策。
