米芾，字元章，生于1051年，卒于1108年，41岁前名黻，别署火正后人、鹿门居士、襄阳漫仕、海岳外史等，湖北襄阳人，中年定居润州（今江苏镇江）。他的审美理想就是：“去颜肉，增褚骨。发天秀，助神物。”后人对米芾书法多以马的神骏来比喻，而这种“神骏”的气质正来自于褚遂良的影响。
