据日本千叶县政府8月18日发布的数据，此次千叶县大雨已经造成11人死亡，此外有2人失踪。
据日本气象厅消息，千叶县自8月13日傍晚以后持续出现强降雨。其中，千叶市截至当地时间14日凌晨1时的12小时累计降雨量达到347毫米，为有记录以来的最高值。半天内的降雨量已接近往年8月整个月平均降雨量的3倍。（央视新闻）
