7月3日，在信阳市淮固高速77公里处，一辆4米级货车突发爆胎，在巨大的惯性下货车侧翻在地。剧烈的撞击后，驾驶员受伤陷入深度昏迷。
危机时刻，驾车经过的辽宁师范大学固始籍应届毕业生徐艺凡立刻停车奔向了事故现场。他先后拨打120、110，然后打开车窗尝试救援，最终与高速交警、120医护人员一起救出了被困受伤司机。
