在社交当中，难免会被问“你多大啦？”，但有时候我们不想说整数，只想模糊回答。但是想表示自己三十多岁了，你却不知道英语怎么表达？赶紧看看吉米老师怎么说吧！
“30多岁”怎么表达呢？
为什么“30多岁”不能翻译成more thanthirty 呢？因为 more than 是“比 ……多”的意思，强调的是“超出”的概念。
如果用more than thirty，有可能是40、50、60 等，所以并不准确。
而正确表示“30多岁”的表达有：
①in one's thirties
in one's +基数词的复数形式”可以用于表示大致的年龄范围。而基数词是表示数量多少的数词，比如 twenty（20）、forty（40）、fifty（50）。
例句：
My uncle got marriedin histhirties.
我舅舅在三十多岁的时候结婚了。
My aunt became a nurse in her twenties and she still loves her job now.
我姑姑20多岁就当了护士，如今她仍然热爱她的工作。
另外，想要再缩小范围，还可以加上early，middle，late
比如：

②thirty something
这里something表示不确切的描述，意思就是“大致，左右，差不多”。当我们在基数词后面加上 something，这个数字就成为了一个大概的数字。 另外，在这里years old 可以省略
例句：
I am twenty something.
我20多岁了。
但要注意的是，“十几岁”并不能说成 in one's tens，或ten-something。因为它有自己专属的表达：teens， teenage“青少年时期”，或teenager“青少年”。
例句：
He used to give his mother hell when he was a teenager.
他十几岁时常常给他母亲惹麻烦。

例句：
My grandfather is past seventy.

- 差...到多少岁

- 不满多少岁
表示“不满多少岁”，可以用副词barely/ nearly/ almost/ quite/ yet等，例如“她不满17岁”有以下几种说法：

通常指年龄范围大致在0~3个月之间。

表示的儿童年龄范围通常在4~12个月之间。

- children儿童
