葡萄牙媒体此前报道称，C罗对利雅得胜利的引援操作不满，不打算在下一场比赛中为利雅得胜利出战。沙特媒体爆料，C罗曾向利雅得胜利管理层询问引援进展，之后表示，“既然你们没准备好，那我也没心思踢了。祝你们好运，你们自己去踢吧，踢完了告诉我。”
