为切实回应群众关切、优化政务服务环境，全力保障2026年第二代居民身份证换证高峰平稳推行，1月7日，太原市公安局正式推出“周末办”“预约办”两项户籍便民服务新举措。1月10日，新政落地首个周六，全市公安机关共为群众办理身份证件102个。
