During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China's New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market grew by 3.6 times, with exports ranking first globally. Power battery unit costs dropped by 30%, lifespan increased by 40%, and charging speeds got more than tripling.
According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in the first 11 months of 2025, NEV production and sales reached 14.907 million and 14.780 million units respectively, both surpassing 2024’s annual totals. NEV sales now account for 47.5% of all new vehicle sales.
