11月7日，戏曲演员@戏曲刘冰 发文称：“著名表演艺术家、《西游记》沙僧扮演者刘大刚先生，于2025年11月3日在京病逝。刘大刚的家人表示遵从逝者遗愿，丧事从简。”刘大刚在成为影视剧演员前是中国京剧院的戏曲演员，行当是花脸，在京剧舞台上摸爬滚打了几十年。上世纪90年代，刘大刚开始涉足影视创作。
