据报道，台积电即将开展1.4纳米最先进制程生产线的初步建设，规划建设四座厂房，首座厂房预计2028年下半年量产，初期投入金额预计高达490亿美元，带动8000至10000个工作机会。据悉，台积电已完成厂房基桩工程招标案，预计11月5日开工。
