In a few days Mr. Bingley returned Mr. Bennet’s visit, and sat about ten minutes with him in his library. He had entertained hopes of being admitted to a sight of the young ladies, of whose beauty he had heard much; but he saw only the father. The ladies were somewhat more fortunate, for they had the advantage of ascertaining from an upper window, that he wore a blue coat and rode a black horse.
我读第一遍大概意思是看懂的，宾利先生回访贝内特先生，在书房会面，想着见到贝家的姑娘们，因为听闻贝家姑娘漂亮，但是没见到。姑娘们从高处窗户看到了宾利，他穿着蓝色外套，骑着黑色的马。
为了精准的明白这段文字，我把几个略微陌生的词汇给出简洁注释：
1. returned
词性：动词（过去式）
含义：回访；回应
用法：“returned Mr. Bennet’s visit”，宾利先生回访贝内特家。
2. library

含义：书房
用法：“in his library”，会面地点。
