球衣号码专家Etienne Catalan报道，瓦兰将身穿掘金的17号球衣。球衣的上一任主人是约翰尼-泰勒（1999年）。
值得一提的是，瓦兰丘纳斯自从登陆NBA以来，穿的号码一直是17号。
据此前报道，瓦兰丘纳斯与掘金队的合同是两年约2040万美元（1039.5万美元、1000万美元）。最初第二年无保障，后转为保障。
