6月24日，盖茨基金会宣布了一项新的承诺：未来五年将向全球疫苗免疫联盟（Gavi）捐赠16亿美元。据介绍，自2000年成立以来，盖茨基金会已累计投入超306亿美元，用于推动疫苗的研发、生产和交付。这其中包括对Gavi的77亿美元捐赠，使其成为基金会赠款数额最大的受赠方。
