毛：Yes! Shouxian, a millennium-old ancient city, is not only a must-visit tourist destination but also a city that has been a beacon of hope for countless people over thousands of years. （没错！寿县这座千年古城，不仅是必游胜地，更是千百年来无数人心中的希望灯塔。）

田：The former capital of the Chu Kingdom isn't just a place - it's a time capsule where every brick carries the weight of dynasties, and every sunset over the Fei River paints a new chapter. （这座楚国故都不只是地理坐标——每块城砖都承载着王朝兴衰，淝水河畔的每次日落都在续写新的篇章。）

毛：As we all know, Shouxian is a treasure trove of culinary delights. From savory delicacies to sweet traditions, every dish tells a story of ancient craftsmanship and cultural fusion."（众所周知，寿县是美食宝库。从咸香佳肴到甜味传统，每道菜都诉说着古老技艺与文化交融的故事。）

田：A traditional pastry from Shouxian, Anhui, dates back to the 10th century. Believed to have saved Emperor Zhao Kuangyin during battle, it features a crispy layered crust filled with sweet ingredients like sugar, osmanthus, and nuts. Now a cultural icon, it's cherished for its rich history and delicate flavor. （这种源自十世纪的安徽传统糕点，相传曾救宋太祖赵匡胤于危难。其酥脆千层外皮包裹着糖、桂花、坚果等甜馅，如今已成为承载厚重历史的非遗美食符号。）

毛：listen! What's this? （听！什么声音？）

田：That crispy rhyme…It's Shouzhou Luogu. （这清脆的韵律...是寿州锣鼓！）

毛：Yes! It is a traditional music and was listed in Anhui's third provincial intangible cultural heritage in 2010. Known as the "talking drum," it produces crisp. Its tones alternate between southern instruments' lingering elegance and northern rhythms' bold vigor, embodying local youth's dynamic spirit and relentless perseverance in Huai River region. （寿州锣鼓，安徽省寿县传统音乐，2010年列入安徽省第三批省级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。它拥有“会说话的锣鼓”之称号，它有时似南方乐器清远悠长，有时又像北方的高亢激昂。它充分展现出寿县青年一代昂扬向上，拼搏进取的精神状态和砥砺前行，一往无前的奋斗姿态。）

毛：Of course! Shouxian, with its millennia-old cultural heritage, embodies both historical legacy and generations of collective efforts. Its modern vitality stems from ancestral perseverance. （那当然！寿县千年文脉既凝聚着历史馈赠，更承载着世代奋斗。如今的生机勃发，正是源于先民们的薪火相传。）

田： A recent French music troupe's visit sparked cultural dialogue between their melodies and our ancient city's rhythms, showcasing Shouzhou's global resonance. （最近法国乐团的来访，让异国旋律与古城韵律展开对话，彰显了寿州文化的世界回响。）

毛：Attention please! Time is up. After time-traveling, we came back to the present and saw ourselves as students. As youth, we pledge to inherit this legacy and forge ahead, composing new chapters for our timeless homeland. （注意！时间到了。穿越归来，看到了作为学生时代的我们。 作为新时代青年，我们誓将传承这份瑰宝，砥砺前行，为永恒的故乡谱写崭新篇章。）

Shouxian: A Millennium-Old Gem from Ancient China, Now Gracefully Stepping onto the Global Stage

甲亢哥：Friends, look! Today I've come to Shouxian County, Huainan City, Anhui Province, China. I heard that this place is really popular. Let me go and take a look. Yeah!

朋友们，看我今天来到了中国安徽淮南的寿县啊！听说这里很火，让我去看一看，耶！

二中学生：Oh my god! Are you Speed? I'm your fan. I can't believe you've come to Shouxian County!

我的天啊，你是Speed吗？我是你的粉丝啊！你居然来寿县啦！

甲亢哥：Yeah. It seems that you are a student. Do you know much about this place? I think you can show me around here. Come on!

耶，看你应该是学生吧？你对这里了解吗？我认为你可以带我了解一下这里！来吧！

二中学生：Of course!I'm a student from Shouxian number Two Senior High School. The famous Bagong Mountain is located in Shouxian County. There is a story about "every bush and tree looks like an enemy soldier" here.

当然！我是一名来自寿县二中的学生，著名的八公山坐落于寿县。在这有一个关于草木皆兵的故事。

这是一个关于寿州锣鼓的故事。战国时期，项燕将军（项羽的祖父）曾用雷霆般的战鼓提振楚军士气——这一传统被保留在《霸王点兵》曲目中。

春申君：Ok！Beyond battlefields, Luogu anchored Ming-Qing era temple fairs. The “Three Pilgrimages” rhythm guided processions at Chenghuang Temple, its tempo mirroring prayers turning to celebration. Listed as Anhui’s Intangible Heritage, Luogu’s coded “drum language” once signaled city gates’ opening and fishermen’s safe returns. Today, fusion performances like “New Chu Rhythms” blend tradition with electronic beats, ensuring its heartbeat endures.

好！在战场之外，锣鼓声曾为明清时期的庙会定下基调。城隍庙前的"三进香"仪式以特定节奏引导游行队伍，其韵律恰似祈祷渐变为欢庆的声景。作为安徽省非物质文化遗产，这套编码化的"鼓语"曾用于传递城门启闭和渔民平安归航的信号。如今，《新楚韵》等融合电子节拍的创新表演，正让这一传统心跳持续跃动于当代。

甲亢哥：I got it. I got it! The recent collaboration between France’s Ensemble Musical de Provence and Shouzhou’s Luogu (Gongs and Drums) troupe showcased how this ancient Chinese city is embracing global cultural exchanges.

我知道，我知道！最近法国普罗旺斯音乐合奏团与寿州锣鼓团的合作，展示了这座中国古城如何拥抱全球文化交流。

春申君：In my opinion, the performance highlighted the dialogue between Provence’s folk melodies and Shouxian’s 2,000-year-old percussion tradition. French strings and woodwinds intertwined with thunderous Luogu rhythms rooted in the Chu Kingdom’s wartime legacy. The fusion symbolized Shouxian’s dual identity: a guardian of history and a pioneer in global cultural tourism. I feel very gratified.

在我看来，这场演出凸显了普罗旺斯民间旋律与寿县两千年打击乐传统之间的对话。法国弦乐与木管乐器交织着根植于楚国战争遗产的雷鸣般锣鼓节奏。这种融合象征着寿县的双重身份：历史的守护者与全球文化旅游的开拓者。我感到非常欣慰。

二中学子：This event, part of Shouxian’s efforts to promote its UNESCO-worthy heritage, attracted global travelers and media. By sharing its drumming artistry—once used to inspire Chu soldiers and celebrate temple festivals—Shouxian is not only preserving Chu culture but also amplifying voice on the world stage.

作为寿县申报联合国教科文组织遗产的重要举措，此次活动吸引了全球游客和媒体关注。通过展示其鼓乐艺术——这项曾用于激励楚军将士、欢庆庙会庆典的技艺——寿县不仅守护着楚文化瑰宝，更在世界舞台上奏响了铿锵之音。

春申君：“Why seek spring in famed gardens? The mountain blooms here rival all.” Shouxian, with its unique allure, invites the world to listen to its everlasting story.

"何必名园觅春色，山中花开此处胜。"寿县以其独特魅力，邀世界聆听它永恒的传奇。

My Beloved Hometown

高二（6）班 江茉彤 朱姿齐

Ladies and gentlemen,boys and girls.We are from class 6.And today our topic is"My Beloved Hometown".

In the heart of Anhui Province, lies a gem that has been shining for over two thousand years - Shouxian--my hometown.

Stepping through the ancient city gates, it's like traveling back in time. The city wall, standing tall and firm, is a silent witness to countless historical events. Its massive stones, weathered by centuries of wind and rain, tell tales of bygone eras. During the Warring States period, Shouxian served as the capital of the Chu State, and the echoes of its glorious past still resonate within these walls.

Strolling along the ancient streets, the unique architecture catches my eye. The houses with grey tiles and carved wooden doors exude an old - world charm. Each house seems to hold stories of generations, passed down through time. The local residents, with warm smiles, add a touch of humanity to this ancient town.

Shouxian is also a place rich in cultural heritage. The local operas, with their vivid melodies and fascinating plots, are a local treasure. Every note and every line are filled with the wisdom and emotions of the people here. And the traditional handicrafts, like the delicate paper - cuttings and the intricate wood carvings, showcase the remarkable skills of Shouxian's artisans.

As the sun sets, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Shouxian looks even more enchanting. The ancient city is bathed in the warm glow, and the past and the present seem to blend seamlessly. Shouxian, my hometown, is not just a place of bricks and mortar; it's a place of memories, a place where history lives on, and a place that will always hold a special place in my heart.

女士们、先生们，同学们：我们来自高二（6）班，今天我们演讲的主题是“我深爱的家乡”。

在安徽省的中心地带，有一颗璀璨的明珠闪耀着两千多年的光辉——那就是我的家乡寿县。

穿过这座古城的城门，仿佛穿越到了过去。那高大坚固的城墙，默默见证了无数的历史事件。历经数世纪风雨侵蚀的巨石，诉说着往昔岁月的故事。在战国时期，寿县曾是楚国的都城，这里回荡着它辉煌历史的余音。

漫步在古老的街道上，那些独特的建筑吸引了我的目光。那些有着灰色瓦片和雕刻木门的房屋散发着一种古老的魅力。每座房屋似乎都承载着几代人的故事，随着时间的流逝代代相传。当地居民们带着温暖的笑容，为这座古老的城镇增添了一份风土人情。

寿县也是一个文化底蕴深厚的地区。当地的戏曲以其生动的旋律和引人入胜的情节而成为一大特色。每一个音符和每一句台词都充满了这里人民的智慧和情感。传统的手工艺品，如精美的剪纸和复杂的木雕，展现了寿县工匠们的非凡技艺。

当夕阳西下，天空被染成橙色和粉色的色调时，寿县显得更加迷人。这座古老的城市沐浴在温暖的光芒下，使得过去与现在的景象似乎浑然一体。寿县——我的家乡，不仅仅是一座由砖石构筑的地域，更是一个承载着回忆的地方，一个历史长存的地，更是一个永远在我心中占据特殊位置的地方！
