我国科研团队近期在位于福建的“政和动物群”发现了距今1.5亿年的鸟类化石“政和八闽鸟”。这是目前世界上已知最早的鸟类之一，也是唯一确切的侏罗纪鸟类。
政和八闽鸟的研究首次揭示了现代鸟类的身体构型在侏罗纪就已经出现，将以尾综骨为代表的鸟类重要特征的出现时间向前推进了近2000万年，改写了鸟类演化的历史。
