On December 4, Beijing time, "Spring Festival — Social Practices of Chinese People Celebrating
the Traditional New Year" was approved at the 19th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee
for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Asunción, Paraguay.
It has been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
With this addition, China now has a total of 44 items on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List,
