Shenzhen permanent residents and holders of residence permits can apply for "multiple-entry permits" for traveling to Hong Kong from December 1, 2024. They can visit Hong Kong as many times as they like within one year, with each stay not exceeding seven days.
From January 1, 2025, Zhuhai permanent residents can apply for "one-trip-per-week" permits for traveling to Macao. They will be allowed to visit Macao once per calendar week, with a maximum stay of seven days per trip. Permanent residents of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and holders of residence permits can apply for "multiple-entry permits" for traveling to Macao.
The official website of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) posted an article by Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government. He noted that the new "multiple-entry permits" policy allows Shenzhen residents to come to Hong Kong more conveniently and flexibly, which brings support to the local tourism, retail, catering and other related industries, facilitates more convenient and smooth visits in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and enables closer economic and people-to-people exchanges in the GBA.
