据香港天文台9月5日消息，按照现时预测，“摩羯”将维持超强台风强度，在明早于香港西南300公里左右掠过。随著摩羯进一步靠近，今晚香港风力将逐步增强，天气转坏，天文台会在今日18时20分改发八号烈风或暴风信号。预料与摩羯相关的烈风区在明早仍然会影响珠江口一带，八号烈风或暴风信号会至少维持至明日中午12时。
