10月1日，睢阳区临河店乡举行撤乡设镇揭牌仪式，临河店乡正式更名为临河店镇。全镇辖22个行政村79个自然村，人口4.95万，面积54平方公里，耕地5.5万亩，是远近闻名的优质花生、小杂果种植基地，是一个高质量发展中的生态农业乡镇。
临河店位于商丘古城西南20余公里，是两区一县交界枢纽乡镇。临河店1949年分属勒马、郭村两区，1956年置临河店乡，1958年分属勒马、郭村两公社，1975年置临河店人民公社，1983年改公社为乡，属商丘县。1997年6月，商丘县撤县设区，临河店乡属商丘市睢阳区。
