8月12日傍晚，在宜宾南岸长江公园江边，也就是水幕电影前面一点，有市民发现江中有一具浮尸。
随后，该浮尸被几位好心的大哥打捞上来。警察到达现场后，在现场拉起了警戒线将现场进行封锁。
