记者从江苏吴江塌楼事故现场救援指挥部获悉，初步认定这起事故是因为产权方私自对房屋结构进行改造，造成房屋部分坍塌。
截至13日7时，这起塌楼事故造成23人被困，已救出被困人员14人，仍有9名人员在搜救中。
已救出被困人员中，1人无伤已回家、5人生命体征平稳、8人遇难。
事故具体原因仍在调查中。
